Cleaning Instructions

 

Before using, wash all components with a neutral detergent and rinse well with ultra pure water.

Wash the electrode assembly, transfer cassettes, and buffer tank with a neutral detergent and warm water. Be careful to avoid damaging the platinum electrodes. Use warm water to rinse the sponges, and then rinse all components with distilled or ultra-pure water.

Short-wave UV light is an effective method for the disinfection of surface DNA, RNA and microorganisms. With the UV Clave, highly focused UV irradiation is used to disinfect tools, vessels and other research items, eliminating up to 99% of surface contamination.

Unlike most UV chambers, the UV Clave includes powerful UV-C bulbs on both the top and bottom of the chamber. When combined with our proprietary shelf that allows for >90% of UV-C light transmission and highly reflective chamber walls, the result is true 360° exposure with no blind spots.

Exposure time is adjustable. An optional heating cycle can be added to assist in drying items that may have been washed or chemically disinfected prior to placing them in the chamber.

To protect users, the integrated auto shut-off prevents illumination when the door is open. Optional indicators are available to test for proper exposure levels.

Benchmark’s Overhead Stirrers feature high torque and advanced digital microprocessor control for smooth mixing of low and medium-viscosity samples. Speed and run-time are accurately set and monitored on the LCD screen. Both the 20 L and 40 L capacity models are supplied with a 4-arm stainless steel propeller, additional steel and Teflon accessories are available. 

 

A feed-through chuck holds accessory shafts firmly in place and is easily tightened and loosened without tools. The overhead stirrers are protected from damage by sensors that shut down operation in the case of high viscosity or obstruction, while a splash cover protects the connection mechanism from potential corrosion. Unlike most mixers, the Benchmark series is also supplied with a support stand and mounting hardware. This new UV transilluminator features a space-saving design while having 16 x 19 cm UV viewing surface to accommodate large gels or multiple smaller gels. The illuminated surface is comprised of a special black glass which is easy to clean, durable and scratch resistant.


Furthermore, an array of high intensity UV bulbs coupled with an optimized filter provides even illumination across the viewing surface and allows detection of small sample quantities.
