Uvitec CL-508 Crosslinker® UV Irradiation System
The Crosslinker® CL-508 is a complete, microprocessor-controlled UV irradiation system, mainly dedicated to the crosslinking of DNA and RNA by covalently binding nucleic acids to nitrocellulose or nylon membranes. With 9 possible presets for energy and time exposure, the CL-508 Crosslinker® is a safe and space-saving instrument offering fast, high-quality results. It is particularly suited for molecular biology applications requiring precise nucleic acid handling.
The system is designed for durability and long-term use, featuring a stainless-steel irradiation chamber, a protective quartz cover over the sensor, and a resistant touch-sensitive control panel. Operation is straightforward, with an intuitive interface and programmable settings.
The microprocessor-controlled system continuously monitors UV output and automatically stops irradiation once the exact programmed energy dose is reached. This ensures accuracy across every run and eliminates variability caused by fluctuations in UV lamp intensity.
With interchangeable UV tubes, the CL-508 also offers flexibility for various wavelengths, making it suitable for a wide range of applications such as Southern, Northern, dot, and slot blotting, nucleic acid crosslinking to membranes, PCR contamination reduction, RecA mutation screening, and other UV-based molecular biology techniques.
