The i1000 microscope is the next generation in live cell microscopy and imaging microscopes. A completely motorized microscope with an open design, the i1000 is a perfect budget-conscious solution for any lab working with live cells and beyond.
The backbone of the scope is the NIS60 optical technology which incorporates the most advanced infinity optics. These optics are designed with custom coatings, high numerical apertures, and long working distances to provide unsurpassed imaging for all applications. One scope in any configuration can perform brightfield, phase, DIC, Hoffman Contrast, fluorescence, confocal, TIRF, and micromanipulation.
Full motorization of every component allows users to streamline the workflow, and with the advanced imaging software included, automated, 6-D, long-term experiments can be set up and run with the click of a button. Users can perform all imaging modalities, including confocal, on a single microscope platform.
There is an integrated LED control panel to control all components manually. This allows users to set up their experiments or use the scope for other microscopy applications, making the scope a valuable tool for any laboratory.
While the scope and all components are motorized, modularity is not lost. Labs can grow with this scope and add other imaging techniques like confocal, TIRF, FRAP, and others to enhance your imaging requirements.

X500 Custom Compound Microscopes
The X500 is an upright research and clinical microscope that blends precision, performance, and outstanding value. The scope is modular, offering a configuration for every application and budget.
The backbone of the scope is the NIS60 optical technology, incorporating the most advanced infinity optics. These optics are designed with custom coatings, high numerical apertures, and long working distances to provide unsurpassed imaging for all applications. Additionally, all lenses are parfocal and paracentric, allowing you to mix and match grades of lenses based on your specific needs.
The X500 has several advanced features that work in synergy to provide the best imaging available. Along with the NIS60 optical design, X500 offers an intense LED illumination system, tuned to 5600º to provide increased contrast in stained samples. Moreover, there is "Fly Eye" technology that provides the most homogenous illumination from edge to edge of the view, even at extremely low 1X and 2X magnifications. The 1 uM co-axial fine focus provides a crisp image at any magnification, and the selectable refocus stop reduces the work required from changing specimen slides and objective magnifications. The ceramic-coated, 2-slide XY stage provides a precision, vibration-free movement of the sample, even at high 100X magnification.
Modularity is at the forefront of this microscope. Users can select any of the components to be motorized to streamline and automate their workflow. One scope in any configuration can perform brightfield, phase, DIC, fluorescence, and confocal imaging in a manual or automated environment. Functionality can be added to the scope anytime, allowing you to upgrade the microscope as your needs change and grow.
The X500 can be used in any environment: Clinical lab, Pathology, Research, and material sciences. The price to performance makes this microscope an excellent choice for any application.

How to Choose the Right Scientific Dewar Containers
The ideal liquid nitrogen (LN2) storage dewar for your facility or project will depend on how you plan to use it.
Consider your needs regarding:
- Footprint and capacity: If you have limited space or require portability, opt for a smaller model. Larger models will increase your LN2 capacity and reduce refill frequency
- Static hold and evaporation rate: The less evaporation that occurs, the longer you can go without refilling LN2. However, especially sensitive materials may require a model that prioritizes hold time over evaporation rate
- Access: Smaller device necks can conserve more LN2 when dispensing, but may be more challenging to use and slow down operations that require frequent dispensing
- Portability: The more compact your laboratory dewar flask is, the easier it will be to transport and use in field research. If portability is not a concern, a larger model may offer more benefits
- Accessory compatibility: While IC Biomedical’s catalog usually aligns with standard accessories (e.g., canisters, racks, transfer lines), check the specifications of the models you are reviewing to make sure they will integrate with your existing workflow
Want help making a decision? Contact us. MIDSCI™ can recommend options based on your LN2 usage, refill frequency preference, and handling constraints.
