Model 1445, Medium Vacuum Oven, Fully Programmable Watlow Temperature Control, Three Shelves, Includes RS485 Communication Capability, 1.7 Cu.Ft. (Also: Model 1480)
This unit is durably constructed with seamless welds and strong bracing. All SHEL LAB vacuum ovens are built with a stainless steel chamber for exceptional durability. We use solid brass vacuum valves with Teflon seats to prevent leaks. Our double plenum design meets CE safety requirements resulting in a cool outer surface.
The doors on these units have positive latch handles with spring-loaded glass to facilitate a good vacuum seal without hinge binds that shorten the gasket life. A selection of gaskets (for specific applications) and a small bench top footprint increase the versatility of these ovens.
SHEL LAB was the first to bring square vacuum ovens to the industry and we continue to offer innovative, top-of-the-line vacuum ovens. Our unique cross-flow ventilation forces inert gas to fill the entire chamber. To achieve required vacuum levels, users can choose from a 3/8 inch orifice or a KF25 fitting to withstand heavy use and minimize draw-down time. Maximum permitted end vacuum is 10 µ. Leak rate is 10 µ per hour.
The SHEL LAB Vacuum Ovens are equipped with silicone gaskets. While these gaskets resist a wide variety of temperatures and pressures, they can breakdown in the presence of solvents and acids. For solvent applications, we recommend using Buna gaskets. For acidic applications, we recommend using Fluorosilicone or Viton® gaskets.

The MP-1015 is the ideal Multi-Purpose gel box for both extended high resolution, linear runs, and economical quick screens. The MP-1015 contains buffer recirculation ports for long runs requiring recirculation. The MP-1015 is constructed of 3/8" thick, cast acrylic, to withstand high voltages and temperature extremes. The maximum suggested applied voltage for the electrophoresis of DNA in agarose gels using the IB53000-MP1015 is 140 volts. In a 1% TBE gel, this translates into a run time of approx. 1 hour. Lower voltages can be used of course, and as a general rule a 70 volt run will take twice as long as a 140 volt run. Higher voltages can be used to decrease run time however, higher voltages can produce excessive heat and decrease sample resolution. |

Lower voltages may be used, of course, and as a general rule, a 50 volt setting will take twice as long as a 100 volt setting. |

The IBI "Lab-Pal" has been designed with the teaching lab in mind. The IB50000 utilizes
two glass slides, measuring 2" x 3", for casting the agarose. The small glass slide
format is ideal for minimizing agarose use while still being an excellent teaching tool
for students just learning about the separation of DNA molecules.
Agarose slides can be cast days in advance and stored in buffer for later use. This helps maximize
class time
