Hoefer® Standard and Preparative Combs for Vertical Systems

 

Combs are precision machined from Teflon®, which is highly resistant to acids, bases, and all commonly used buffer systems. An important benefit of Teflon® combs, compared to other types, is that they are easily removed while maintaining gel integrity. They are lightweight and virtually unbreakable when used with reasonable care. Some combs have microtiter spacing for use with multi-channel pipettes.

  • Standard Combs come attached to a standard back, which produces maximum well depths of 25 mm, except for the 28-well combs, which produce well depths of 15 mm. 15-well Standard Combs have microtiter spacing for use with multichannel pipettes.
  • Preparative Combs have adjustable comb backs (10, 15, and 25 mm depth) and form 1 large preparative well plus 1 or 2 small reference wells.

Lab Armor® Bead Bath

Bead Baths from Lab Armor® are designed with the user in mind and are optimized to work with Lab Armor® Bath Beads. Bead Bath performs all the essentials, including warming, thawing, incubating, chilling and does so while maintaining a constant temperature just like a water bath. These baths deliver exceptional temperature uniformity up to 80°C. The baths are available in 6 L, 14 L, and 20 L sizes, with and without beads included. 

  • Uniform Temperatures
    • With Bead Bath designed specifically for beads, temperatures are consistent and uniform everywhere in the bath. Thermal uniformity is an amazing ±5 °C at 37 °C and ± 1 °C at 65 °C. Since Bead Bath won't boil off like water, or pose danger of combustion like oil, it is ideal for most applications from 37°C to 400 °C.
  • Fast Start
    • Bead Bath gets up and running faster and you never need to turn it off. There is nothing to evaporate. Unlike a standard bead-filled water bath, Bead Bath allows you to achieve a new set temperature quickly, without long warm up delays, so you can make quick adjustments.
  • Stays Organized
    • Unlike water baths that require racks, floats and bottleneck weights, Bead Bath naturally holds things in place without accessories. The types and kinds of vessels that can be used with the Bead Bath aren't limited to water-tight containers. So you can safely incubate multiwall plates and petri dishes-or thaw samples without fear of water wicking under the lids. And vessels can be set into the beads at any angle for better thermal optimization.
  • Low Maintenance
    • Water baths must be routinely monitored, cleaned and maintained. While it is a good idea to keep an eye on Bead Bath, it rarely needs attention. A bi-weekly or monthly spritz of a biodegradable disinfectant is usually sufficient.

Hoefer® Standard Format Glass Plates for Vertical Systems

 

Standard format glass plates are for SE660, SE600X Chroma, SE600, SE640, SE410, and SE400 Vertical Gel Electrophoresis Units.

 

Run as many as four 0.75, 1.0, or 1.5 mm thick gels on SE600 Series units and two gels on the SE400 Series at one time under identical conditions using the double gel capacity Divider Plates. Insert a divider plate between the glass plates that make up a single gel sandwich. Place spacers on each side of the divider plate to form two gel cavities for pouring gels. This two gel “club sandwich” fits into the same casting stand and seals perfectly.


Hoefer® PlateMate Glass Plate Washer and Storage Kit

 

Dramatically reduces glass plate loss due to chipping and cracking. Each holder can hold either ten 18 cm wide plates in the long direction or twenty 8 cm wide plates in the short direction. The adaptor can be placed in three different slots, labeled to refer to the length of the plates: 8, 10, or 12 cm. 

  • Glass plates fit securely into the plate holders' grooves for safe washing, rinsing, and storage
  • Stainless steel handles let you carry plate holders easily and set them safely into the washing bath
  • Accommodates forty 8 cm tall or twenty 18 cm wide plates
  • Holds as many as twenty 10.5 cm tall plates with the optional SE103 long plate adapter accessory

ENDURO GDS II and GDS Touch II are the next-generation Gel Documentation Systems from Labnet International. These gel documentation systems are used for visualization of DNA and protein stained within a gel and provide photo documentation of these gels in a laboratory setting.

The GDS II comes in either a 302 nm or 365 nm version and runs on a Windows-based PC (not included).

The GDS Touch II comes in either a 302 nm or 365nm wavelength version with 470 nm epi-blue lights for use with Safe Dyes that eliminate the need for ethium bromide.
