Electrophoresis Buffers
QuickSilver - TAE (Tris-acetate-EDTA)
TAE is ideal for separation of large DNA fragments in agarose gels and is used as running buffer and in gel preparation.
TAE is the buffer of choice when recovering DNA from gels and when downstream processing involves enzymatic reactions. Final concentration of a 1X working solution is 40mM Tris, 20mM acetic acid, 1mM EDTA.

QuickSilver - TBE (Tris-borate-EDTA)
TBE is used in gel preparation and as a running buffer for electrophoresis of nucleic acids. TBE works best for resolution of smaller fragments (<2kb). Its higher buffering capacity makes it useful for longer runs. The final concentration of a 1X working solution is 89mM Tris, 89mM boric acid, 2mM EDTA.

QuickSilver - Fast Running Buffer
QuickSilver Fast Running Buffer is a proprietary blend formulated for agarose gel electrophoresis at high voltage (300-350V). Its strong buffering capacity minimizes heat generation all allows for extremely fast separation of fragments smaller than 5kb. A typical 30-minute run can be performed in just 10 minutes using this buffer.

QuickSilver™ TGS (Tris-Glycine-SDS)
Tris-Glycine-SDS is one of the most common running buffers used for SDS-PAGE. A 1X solution contains 25mM Tris, 192mM Glycine and 0.1% SDS.

QuickSilver™ Tris-MES-SDS
Small to medium molecular weight proteins can be resolved on SDS-PAGE gels using Tris-MES-SDS as a running buffer. Proteins resolve faster in gels using Tris-MES-SDS as a running buffer than those using Tris-MOPS-SDS. A 1X solution has a final concentration of 50mM Tris, 50mM MES, 0.1% SDS and 1mM EDTA.

QuickSilver™ Tris-MOPS-SDS
Tris-MOPS-SDS is ideal for use as a running buffer when resolving medium to large proteins with SDS-PAGE. Gels run with Tris-MOPS-SDS buffer run slower than those using Tris-MES-SDS buffer. The final concentration of a 1X working solution is 50mM Tris, 50mM MOPS, 0.1% SDS and 1mM EDTA.

QuickSilver™ PBS and PBST
Because its osmolality and ion concentration closely mimic that of the human body, PBS is commonly used for cell culture applications, as well as HPLC and MS. PBST is a wash buffer and diluent for ELISA. The 1X PBS solution contains 137mN NaCl, 2.7mM KCl and 10mM phosphate. PBST is supplemented with 0.05% Tween-20.

VitroGel® Hydrogel Matrix is a ready-to-use, xeno-free (animal origin-free) functional hydrogel for 3D cell culture research. VitroGel® Hydrogel Matrix is an optimized formulation of multi-functional ligands and concentration to support a wide range of cell types for different applications.“Just Add Cells” – The hydrogel matrix is ready to mix with cell suspension directly.
There is no additional adjustment needed. VitroGel® Hydrogel Matrix closely mimics the natural extracellular matrix (ECM) environment to make cells feel more like at home. The hydrogel is room temperature stable, has a neutral pH, transparent, permeable and compatible with different imaging systems. ION Biosciences Fluo-2 K+ Salt
Green fluorescent, calcium (Ca²+) indicator, membrane impermeable. Higher Ca²+ affinity than Fluo-4.
Fluo-2 is a green fluorescent, calcium (Ca²+) indicator. Fluo-2 has higher Ca²+ affinity (Kd = 290 nM), superior cell loading and comparable spectral properties compared to Fluo-4. Offers superior sensitivity versus other Fluo analogues at lower Ca²+ concentrations.
Fluo-2 K+ salt is a membrane impermeable form of Fluo-2 that can be used in lipid membrane-free systems, in liposomes, or can be introduced into cells by electroporation, microinjection or other methods.
BCECF AM is the most popular green fluorescent, intracellular pH indicator. BCECF has a pKa of ~7, and exhibits pH-dependent, dual-excitation properties (Ex/Em 430nm/535nm and 490nm/535nm) for ratiometric analysis. Ratiometry is optimal for imaging applications, and reduces effects of photobleaching, heterogenous dye loading, and variable cell morphology. For HTS applications, BCECF can also be used in non-ratiometric mode using standard fluorescein excitation and emission settings.
ION’s Brilliant Sodium Assay is a total assay solution for multi-well plate-based, high-throughput measurements of changes in intracellular Na+ mediated through a wide-variety of plasma membrane and intracellular sodium channels and transporters. In multi-well, plate-based formats, the Brilliant Sodium Assay can be used to discover and characterize the effects of many tens-of-thousands of compounds and environmental factors on effectors of intracellular Na+. ION’s Brilliant Sodium Assay provides all the reagents necessary for use as a wash or no-wash assay with adherent or non-adherent cells. The optional use of a probenecid solution and an extracellular background masking solution (TRS) offers the ultimate in compatibility for cells types which are difficult to load with fluorescent Na+ indicators (e.g. Chinese Hamster Ovary, CHO cells) and when performing assays in complete, serum-containing cell culture medium is desired.
