PR1MA™ 2D Microplate Centrifuge

 

The PR1MA™ 2D Digital Microplate PCR Plate Spinning Centrifuge pairs a space-saving benchtop design with precise digital control. Engineered for versatility, its programmable speed and run-time settings allow laboratories to standardize protocols and ensure reliable performance across a variety of molecular biology applications.

 

Featuring a patented swing-out rotor, the PR1MA™ 2D keeps plate carriers angled at 75° while at rest, allowing users to load open plates without risking liquid spillage or requiring heat seals and film. Upon activation, the rotor smoothly accelerates, bringing plates into a fully horizontal position for efficient centrifugation. Once the run completes, soft electronic braking quickly brings the rotor back to its resting angle for fast, mess-free sample retrieval.

 

Reaching top speeds of 2,800 rpm (728 x g), the PR1MA™ 2D rapidly concentrates droplets at the bottom of plate wells, reducing processing times and enhancing data consistency for downstream analysis.

PR1MA™ Microplate Microcentrifuge

The PR1MA™ Microplate Microcentrifuge is the first mini-sized centrifuge with a swing-out rotor for microplates. Centrifuging plates before PCR ensures all reactants are in the bottom of the wells for proper concentrations and improved yields.

 

The easily accessible rotor chamber includes two plate carriers that rest at a 75° angle. This allows plates to be inserted confidently without sealing tapes or caps. Upon closing the centrifuge lid, the rotor accelerates and the centrifugal force "swings" the plates into a horizontal position, concentrating any droplets on the plate walls to the well bottoms.


Accessories 

  • PCRCENT-A02 - This tube adapter for the PCRCENT Plate Centrifuge holds 96 0.2 mL tubes or 8 and 12 position PCR strips. It comes 2 per pack.
  • PCRCENT-DWMP - This optional rotor for the PCRCENT Plate Centrifuge has carriers for deep well plates up to 35 mm tall.

PR1MA™ High-Speed Microcentrifuge

All operating parameters are set using a single, conveniently located control knob and the large, bright LCD provides a clear indication of time and rpm or g-force. A separate momentary spin button permits instant spin downs, without setting or disturbing any preset parameters. The aircraft-grade aluminum rotor accepts 1.5 to 2.0 mL tubes directly, as well as 0.5 mL and 0.2 mL tubes with optional adapters. For applications requiring sub-ambient temperatures, the microcentrifuge is cold-room safe.

The PR1MA™ High-Speed Microcentrifuge is the first and only compact microcentrifuge capable of achieving centrifugal speeds up to the critical threshold of 16,000 x g, often held as the standard for many molecular biology/DNA protocols. Its brushless, maintenance-free drive system makes it powerful, yet compact enough to allow each workstation to be fully equipped with a personal centrifuge.

The PR1MA™ Mini is a personal centrifuge that virtually fits in the palm of your hand. An eight-place rotor is included and comes installed. PR1MA™ MC-24 Touch High-Speed Microcentrifuge

The PR1MA™ MC-24 Touch is the first microcentrifuge in its class to feature touchscreen control. In addition to the next-generation control panel, the centrifuge also offers high speed (up to 13,500 rpm / 16,800 xg) and a unique COMBI-Rotor™ with lid that accepts both standard microtubes (1.5 / 2.0 mL) and PCR tubes/strips (0.2 mL), making this the perfect partner for any molecular biology laboratory.

The large, color touchscreen, shows the actual speed (in rpm or rcf) along with set and remaining time. Up to 9 speed/time profiles can be stored in memory and the home screen displays a “mySpin” icon for instant recalls a designated favorite profile.

Supplied with Benchmark’s unique COMBI-Rotor™, the MC-24 Touch will accept 24 × 1.5 / 2.0 mL tubes, 2 strips of 0.2 mL tubes (16 × 0.2 mL), and up to 12x spin column kits without requiring separate adapters. There is also an optional 8-place rotor for 5 mL and cryo tubes. Samples are kept cool, even during extended runs at the maximum speed setting by a proprietary air flow system that moves air evenly and quietly throughout the chamber.

The MC-24 Touch is cold room safe and carries a 2-year warranty.
